What are PQplus Policy Checks?

PQplus Policy Checks are ‘gap analyses.’  They identify and fix problems with policies and procedures. PQplus reviews an organisation’s policies against the NDIS Practice Standards and NDIS Quality and Safeguarding requirements. Then we rectify any gaps in the documentation and provide a report detailing the gaps identified and the measures taken.

PQplus Policy Checks are conducted by specialists in the relevant areas: disability, mental health, Aged Care, and Allied Health. 

Who needs a PQplus Policy Check?

PQplus Policy Checks are useful for organisations:

  • entering the NDIS marketplace with policies suited to other funding models or disciplines, or
  • that entered the NDIS marketplace prior to July 2019 under state-based Quality Frameworks, or
  • that have not regularly reviewed and updated their Quality documentation to reflect changes to legislation or the supports they offer, or
  • whose audit reveals unsatisfactory documentation.

When to Policy Check?

For greater cost-benefit, Policy Checks are often conducted as part of larger Quality System overhauls. Providers prepare for external audit by combining gap analyses with self-assessments and internal audits. It’s more efficient and allows providers to approach audits with confidence, knowing the groundwork has been done.
